Welcome to my website. My aim was to provide the viewers content that is  both interesting and inspiring, whether you are new or a seasoned photographer, I hope you will find something here that will make you think about photography in a new way…….

Ive tried to make the navigation around the website simple as possible…… Under the essential info tab you will find things like my background & equipment-techniques used amongst others. In the Galleries you will  images from the Uk’s Heritage railways (as well as a growing collection of Auction won & copyright owned images taken in the 60′s of the last days of steam in BR operation). All are low res small Jpg’s made from my original Raw files,  I always shoot in RAW its non destructive and preserves all the detail unlike  jpg’s & you can print big  images with no problem.

I like trying new ideas and think “out of the box” to push my skills to the limit, so if you like viewing hundreds of 3/4 front shots and bunker firsts in glorious sun, then this isn’t the site for you!!! But what you will find is a different slant that i feel captures the emotion and the “old world” romance of the preserved steam railways. The staff who run the railways also feature  in my work, often the unsung heroes they can make a good image great. My train photography has been inspired by the greatest British steam photographer ever, his name…. Colin Gifford. He managed to capture the demise of steam during the 60′s with real skill, his images have the ability to captivate an audience who have no interest in photography or steam at all, he’s quite simply a genious who saw the demise of steam so very different to all the others.

I also like famous photographic & art quotations, you will find a page listing the ones that have and still are shaping my approach to photography…….

My Nature work  is  much more traditional in approach, many of the images you will see here have been used in exhibitions across the globe and have gained me many awards and acceptances(you can find a blog which lists my many awards and acceptances. I hope to expand this area over the coming years.

The railway gallery breaks down into individual railways. These are updated on a regular basis, during 2011 my main focus has been on my natural history, but i expect to add more images to these galleries during the Autumn & Winter of 2011/12.

From time to time I will also publish some Blogs, these will vary in content from advertising new gallery updates to guides on how I process my raw images or how I use adverse weather to my advantage rather than moaning and going home……….

I  hope enjoy your time around my site, please feel free to contact me with any comments or questions you might have.

Best Wishes
