Hi & welcome to my website,

It’s purpose is to show fellow photographers my images and to inspire you to have ago at steam railway’s & nature. Its dedicated to my 3 main passions in life. The UK’s preserved railways, Wildlife & the art of Photography itself. The desire to make a website had been there for sometime but i had no idea where to start, but a great friend has helped me understand the basics of web design by using the Word-press platform &  now I’m loving it!  I owe him a great deal, Thanks M!

Ive tried to make the navigation around the website simple as possible…… Under ”essential info” you will find things like my background & equipment-techniques used amongst others. The Galleries are where the main content is, the images are low res around 700×500 pixels, some people have commented there to small, but that’s how i want it…If you can see the image and detail why do you have to fill the whole screen???? I always work in RAW its non destructive and preserves all the detail unlike shooting jpg & you can print big A3+ images with no problem. I like playing and trying new angles and pushing my own techniques to the limit, so if you like viewing hundreds of 3/4 front shots and bunker first’s in glorious sun, then this isnt the site for you!!! But what you will find is a different slant that i feel captures the emotion and feeling of steam railways, the people of the railways also feature strongly in my work aswell.

The railway Gallery breaks down into individual railways, which is up to date, and I’m now turning my attention to scanning in my 35mm nature slides, the intention by close of play 2009 is to have all the galleries up to date…..Well that’s the plan anyhow!

From time to time i will also publish some Blogs, these will vary in content from advertising new gallery updates to guides on how i process my raw images or how i use adverse weather to my advantage rather than moaning and going home……….

Anyhow i hope you have as much pleasure viewing my photos as i do taking them & let me know your thoughts (good or bad) via the ”contact me” page or leaving a reply to a blog!

  Cheers

  Jon.
