As with all things in life you only get what you pay for. Nikon glass is the best out there, if you can afford it then get it, we ask a lot from the glass when using DX format bodies so give it the best chance possible! There built to withstand a lot of abuse, they just don’t break. The lens is the real investment in today’s digital photography, Body technology is moving on so fast, there almost replaced with a new model by the time you walk out the shop with it!
My equipment for post processing includes:-
Nikon Coolscan 5000d (for archiving & turning slides into digital files to process)
Photoshop (the devils evil tool if you believe the old Gricers…..just a modern darkroom to everyone else!)
HP A3+ printer for those you want to print and hang!
A Lot of time & a patient wife………………….
