Other Railway images.
Started in Jan 2011, this new gallery attempts to bring together individual & collections of images that i have bought from dealers & auction houses of the railways in the glory years when steam was an everyday site that the British people relied upon. Whilst small in content i hope to build on this over the years. All the images you see have been bought with the copyright passed on to me, in some cases the original photographer’s name is unknown, but where possible it is included. If anyone sees an image that they believe shouldn’t be on view here please let me know with more information. I hope you enjoy whats been published to date and keep watching for more during 2011.

A small collection of images taken at the famous Barry scrapyard during July1971, early days still with rows of locos to be seen...These images were bought with the copyright intact. Whilst not the best quality they tell a story so deserve a place on my website. I hope you find them interesting. Nearly all these engines have steamed in preservation.

All these images were sold to me with the copyright and i make a concerted effort to check my known sources to check they are what they were claimed to be. If anyone ever sees an image they believe shouldnt be on view here let me know! I have longed wished for a gallery of images taken pre 1968, as a 70's baby this means collecting the image's rather than taking them! Many thanks to Syd Hancock & Michael Bonser for helping me with sourcing info for many of the shots you will see in this gallery. It amazes how these guys just reel off the info as if it was yesterday! Thanks a million.

A collection of images bought from a private sale, taken around 1967 showing the demise of steam. Its fascinating to see the acceptance of the crew with the 8F on the turntable to the gathering crowd of public, and the guy risking life and limb on the ladder at Kings Cross....A lovely set of images that show steam in the final years.....

A Collection of images taken during the last years of steam. Some images have been indentified to some degree, many will probably remain unknown. But all have some historical interest. These images were bought in the form of negs & 35mm slides and all came with copyrights from the authors.......Many thanks must go to good friend Micheal Bonser for scanning the negs.
