In this new gallery you will find a selection of images related to the fascinating world of Speedway & other forms of Motor sport. Ive been to the odd speedway at Coventry over the years and always felt there were opportunities for action pictures. Being in a camera club has made me look outside my comfort zone for new subject matter for themed competitions and club battles. My sister has been a big speedway fan for years and asked me this year if i would take some pics, so i agreed and we went to the newly formed team at Leicester. I’m very happy to add this gallery to my website and i hope you will enjoy change!
My first attempt at photographing at a Speedway meeting with my good friend Andy Gamble. After doing some research into a suitable track we were pleased to find the local & newly formed team based in Leicester fitted the bill, so i picked up my speedway mad sister and headed off to meet Andy there...We were blessed with some lovely light for the first 4 heats then we hit some cloud cover but the 70-200 VR F2,8 lens and my trusty D300 carried on working well till the end.....Overall im very satisfied with my catch, & we both learnt some lessons to take to our next meeting........Sadly Leicester lost the meeting but we had a great time and enjoyed the spectacle.
